Claire Festel of Penticton is the author of Remarkable Yukon Women (Harbour, 2011), with fifty colour paintings by Valerie Hodgson, who was born and raised in North Vancouver. Both lived for many years in the Yukon. Festel provides one-page profiles for fifty women who were born and moved to the Yukon, complemented by Hodgson's realistic artwork.
