DENNISON, John

Born in 1929, he co-authored Canada's Community Colleges (1986), the first comprehensive study of the country's college systems. Community colleges evolved in Canada during the "golden age" of educational innovation between 1960-75. The authors outline the problems particular to each provincial and territorial college system and identify key issues critical to the future of these systems. Dennison, a professor of higher education at UBC, wrote the book in 1986 with Paul Gallagher, then president of Vancouver Community College. [BCBW 1995]
