Cree poet Wanda John-Kehewin is another product of the SFU Writers Studio, having released her first collection, In the Dog House (Talonbooks $16.95), divided into four aspects of the Medicine Wheel. She uses writing as a therapeutic medium through which to understand and to respond to the near decimation of First Nations culture, language, and tradition. Her work has been published in the Aboriginal Writers Collective West Coast anthology Salish Seas was well as Quills Canadian Poetry Magazine and emerge.
