Jodie Renner is a freelance fiction editor and author of two craft-of-writing guides in her series, An Editor's Guide to Writing Compelling Fiction. A third book is slated for autumn, 2014. She specializes in thrillers, romantic suspense, mysteries, and other fast-paced, suspenseful fiction. She received her master's degree in literature and became an English and French teacher and, later, a school librarian. A mother of two, she also enjoys photography and traveling.

Place of residence: Kelowna, BC (Also lived in Vancouver, Chemainus, Nanaimo, Toronto, and London, Ontario.)

Arrival in BC - Moved to BC with my family in 1954, at age of 4. Grew up in BC, moved to Ontario for a while at age 32.

Current position: Freelance fiction editor and author of craft-of-writing guides.

Other employment: teacher, teacher-librarian.

Education: Attended UBC, SFU, York University, and U.W.O. Master's degree in French language and literature, University of Western Ontario, 1987.

Literary awards: Fire up Your Fiction received a silver medal award from the Florida Authors & Publishers President's Book Awards, 2013; and an Honorable Mention in Writer's Digest Self-Published E-Book Awards, 2013 (both awards under the book's original title, Style That Sizzles & Pacing for Power). It is also a Finalist in three book awards: Foreword Reviews IndieFab Book Awards, Readers' Favorite Awards, and National Indie Excellence Book Awards.
