Born on September 3, 1919 in Adlestrop, England, she came to Canada in 1945, first arriving in Halifax before moving to Victoria in 1989. A creative writing teacher, she has written numerous articles, short stories and book reviews and is a founding member of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia.
