Geoffrey Bromhead's Struck (Anvil 2003 $14) won the 25th Annual 3-Day Novel-Writing contest. In the winning novel, Finnigan Heller is on the run from a scientist, a Canadian Intelligence agent and a violent Englishman. He gets hit by lightning in every town he visits. Bromhead is an Alberta, but the novel is significant in B.C. literary history because it marks the final winning entry of the content that Anvil Press published, having taken over the writing competition from its founder, Arsenal Pulp Press, formerly known as Pulp Press. In August of 2003 Brian Kaufman announced with the publication of Struck that he was "passing the 3-Day torch" to a new Vancouver publishing house, Blue Lake Books. 1-895-636-53-1
