Michael Twist obtained a B.A. in Communications and English from Simon Fraser University and completed the Creative Writing program at Douglas College. He has experience as a professional English teacher and obtained Trinity College (TESOL) certification in Barcelona, Spain. In Highs and Lows: A Personal Approach to Living with Diabetes, Twist argues for a re-evaluation of the way we view diabetes and those who suffer from it. The book provides insights and tips for people living with diabetes, and for those of us who want to understand them. He has written for publications including Shared Vision, The Danforth Review, Diabetes Interview, Medusa, Maelstrom and Webspace.
