Born in the Peace River country in 1934, Margo Wood and her late husband Charles Wood created their cruising guide series known as Charlies' Charts from their experiences with a 34-foot cutter, ERN, built in Nova Scotia in 1958, the year of their marriage. The couple cruised until Charles Wood's death in 1987, at age 59. She has continued to explore inlets and anchorages on the British Columbia coast. During the winter months she revisits Costa Rica, Mexico and Polynesia to collect material for updating the guides' addenda. She is also the author of A Prairie Chicken Goes To Sea (2003) and British Columbia to Alaska: The Lure of Cruising the Coast. She lives in White Rock.
