Born in 1920 in Squamish, she met her husband Alyx Blyth while working at Namu Cannery. She has worked for the Prince Rupert Daily News and has been the curator of the North Pacific Cannery Village Museum at Port Edward, B.C. She received a British Columbia's Senior Citizen of the Year award for her work with the museum in Port Edward. She wrote and self-published A History of Port Edward in 1970. Her second book, Salmon Canneries: British Columbia North Coast, was published by Oolichan Books in 1991.
