Brine wrote Canada's Forgotten Highway (Sandhill, 1995), the story of the development of the wilderness waterway for fur traders that connected Montreal to the mouth of the Columbia River on the Pacific. The 4300-mile route was used by the likes of David Thompson. Distributed by Sandhill, it was self-published by Brine's own Whaler Bay Press on Galiano Island.
