Women Who Made The News (McGill-Queens)
Info
Marjory Lang of Langara College gathered information for a broad overview of the careers of female journalists in Canada from 1880 to 1945 in Women Who Made The News (McGill-Queens, 2000). Missing from the overview is Constance Lindsay Skinner who was born in Quesnel but gained her renown in the United States. There is also precious little about Julia Henshaw, Gwen Cash and Margaret 'Ma' Murray [See entries] because Lang's study concentrates on social attitudes and practices rather than personalities.
