Published by an imprint called Beyond Books in 1996, the one-word-named author Anami's spiritual guidance tract, Meditation Magic: A Course in Freedom and Dreaming is a mish-mash of spirtual teachings around the subject of meditation. Anami (pronounced ah-Nahm-ee) was born in Vancouver, began meditating at age 16 and attended UBC for five years, learning about comparative mysticism. At 20 he went to India, met a Russian yoga teacher, zazened with Buddhists, hiked the Himalayas, chanted with Tibetans, etc. He is a poet and flautist who has hosted of a television program about meditation.
