R.W. Sandwell, who has taught history at SFU and UBC, is the editor of Beyond the City Limits, Rural History in British Columbia (UBC Press, 1998 $27.95). She completed her doctorate in the History Department of SFU with a study of settlement of Saltspring Island. Beyond the City Limits contains a 20-page article by Jean Barman called 'Invisible Women: Aboriginal Mothers & Mixed Race Daughters in Rural Pioneer British Columbia'.
