Doane Gregory has been a stills photographer for many of the major films made in British Columbia, and also around the world. He lives on Gabriola Island. Shelagh Rogers of CBC Radio has said, "Behind the camera in Doane Gregory's hands is a man with boundless curiosity. What he seeks to reveal in his photographs is the essence of his subjects. And what we experience looking at them is a more profound understanding of the world around us. Doane appears to understand the secret life of light and the temporal becomes in his hands, through his all-seeing eyes, sublime. His photographs are a revelation.";
