Born on March 27, 1946 in Oslo, Norway, Knut Fladmark came to Vancouver in 1946. A Professor or Archaeology at SFU, Fladmark wrote British Columbia Prehistory (Canadian National Museum of Man, 1986).Spanning 12,000 years Fladmark supplies the reader with well developed descriptions and illustrations as he attempts to reveal British Columbia's ancient past and make it more accessible to professional archaeologists and students alike. Fladmark champions the idea of preserving our collective heritage as he explores the wisdom of hundreds of generations past.

He rediscovered the site of Rocky Mountain Fort on the Moberly River in 1975.
