Born in Montreal in 1908, she attended McGill University where she gained her first taste of social awareness as a member of the Labour Club. An active union organizer, she was several times a delegate to the Trades and Labour Congress for the Office and Professional Workers Union. Her estate in Vancouver published her poems titled Singing in the Night in 1994.
