Michael A. Goldberg, while a UBC professor of Urban Land Policy, interviewed 80 Chinese real estate investors and their related Pacific Rim advisors for The Chinese Connection: Getting Plugged in to Pacific Rim Real Estage, Trade and Capital Markets (UBC Press, 1985), an analysis of the growth of the Pacific Rim as an economic frontier. The book is dedicated to David See Chai Lam, who later became B.C.'s Lieutenant-Governor. His other books include Global Cities and Public Policy; Urban Land Economics: An Introductory Text; and The Housing Problem: A Real Crisis?
