Lorraine Harris was born in Vancouver and raised in Ocean Falls from 1918 until 1939, before moving to Nanaimo. She has written numerous B.C. histories, mainly about the B.C. Interior in general and Barkerville in particular. Her 1977 history of Lillooet is Halfway to the Goldfields.
