A long-time employee of B.C. Packers, Cicely Lyons first worked for the company in 1916 and became a fulltime employee in 1920. She examined the first 100 years of the B.C. salmon industry in conjunction with the growth of B.C. as a province in Salmon: Our Heritage, a 768-page study released by BC Packers in 1969 and printed by Mitchell Press. It was released after The Fishermen's Cooperative Movement in British Columbia had published a similar history with a decidedly different take on the industry, Tides of Change, by A.V. Hill.
