Born in Winnipeg in 1936, Roy Peterson came to Vancouver in 1948. He created The Canadian ABC Book and as a long-time Vancouver Sun cartoonist, his World According to Roy Peterson was accompanied by text from Allan Fotheringham. His satirical 'Swamp' books with Stanley Burke were bestsellers (notably Frog Fables and Beaver Tales) and he has provided caricatures of numerous prominent figures within the B.C. book industry. He lives in West Vancouver and has won many newspaper awards for his work. [See Stanley Burke.]

Peterson died in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on 30 September 2013, aged 77, of complications from Parkinson's disease.
