Having earned the distinction of being the National Hockey League's most penalized player, David James 'Tiger' Williams, born on February 3, 1954 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, recorded his hockey career in an autobiography, written with Vancouver sports scribe James Lawton, called Tiger: A Hockey Story (D&M, 1984). Williams played most notably for the Toronto Maples and the Vancouver Canucks, retiring in 1988 and settling in Vancouver where he has promoted roller hockey. He also co-authored Done Like Dinner: Tiger in the Kitchen (with Kasey Williams).
