Born in Vancouver on October 23, 1954, Robin Wheeler teaches traditional skills, sustenance gardening and medicinals at her Edible Landscapes nursery in Roberts Creek where she also has operated a Sustainable Living Arts School to teach skills such as raising chickens, winter gardening and canning. She also a founder a local organic growers group, One Straw Society, written a column for Momentum magazine. Her Food Security for the Faint of Heart (New Society 2008), an update of earlier works, includes advice on how to forage for wild foods, manage during an earthquake and save freezer food during a power outage.
