BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Matthew Shaw spent several years as a sawmill labourer and as a financial consultant. He eventually went to school and graduated from the Universite d'Aix-Marseille and Simon Fraser University and later received an MA from California State University. He and his wife have been Humanities teachers at an Adult Education school in Prince George. During the winters, they have lived in Southern California. His first self-published book, To Live Deliberately, deals with breaking social conventions and developing a philosophy of self-determination.
