Kevin McNeilly is is an associate professor at UBC in the English Department who is interested in the intersection between music, philosophy and poetry. He co-edited Currents: Stories, Essays, Poems and Plays (Prentice Hall, 2000), 2nd edition, with Noel E. Currie, William H. New and William E. Messenger, and he wrote Embouchure (Nightwood, 2011), a collection of poems about the 'pre-bop' era from 1890 to 1939. Embouchure ties together 37 different accounts of jazz musicians.
