Frank Unger has taught at the University of Erlangen, Humboldt University, and Oregon State University. He is an author and scholar on political philosophy, international relations, U.S. politics and political culture. A professor with the Institute for European Studies at UBC, Unger co-edited The Shifting Foundations of Modern Nation-States: Realignments of Belonging (UTP, 2004) with UBC's Sima Godfrey. The study examines such trends as assimilation in Western Europe and separatism in southeastern Europe.
