A UBC English professor, Peter Quartermain has published broadsides since 1979, as Slug Press, along with his wife Meredith Quartermain. They also produced a chapbook by Sharon Thesen in 1981 called Radio New France Radio.

He is the co-editor with Richard Caddel of Other: British and Irish poetry since 1970 (Hanover, University Press of New England, 1998); and the co-editor with Rachel Blau DuPlessis of The Objectivist Nexus: Essays in Cultural Poetics (U of Alabama Press, 1999).

He is the editor of Robert Duncan: The Collected Early Poems and Plays (U California Press, 2012), and Robert Duncan: The Collected Later Poems and Plays (U California Press, 2013)
