MURPHY, Christopher L.

Christopher Murphy is the main author of Meet the Sasquatch (Hancock House 2004) with contributions by John Green, Thomas Steenburg and Bob Gimlin. It was published in conjunction with an exhibit at the Vancouver Museum from June, 2004 to February, 2005. As Chris Murphy he is also credited as the co-author of The Bigfoot Film Controversy (Hancock House, 2005) with Roger Patterson, who died on January 15, 1972. Patterson and Bob Gimlin of Yakima County, Washington were responsible for colour film footage taken on October 20, 1967 at Bluff Creek in northern California that ostensibly provides proof of Bigfoot's existence. The Bigfoot Film Controversy contains images of the twelve clearest film frames of the sasquatch/Bigfoot creature depicted on the film. René Dahinden travelled to Moscow at his own expense to have the film analyzed and verified by Soviet authorities after the American scientific community largely dismissed it. The Russian scientists consulted apparently validated the documentary showed "a genuine female hominoid".
