Born in Toronto in 1953, he edited PRISM International and wrote an historical novel for the Vancouver centennial, The West Coasters (Macmillan, 1986), a Michener-styled saga that begins in 1857. It has a wide range of ethnic and historical characters and skillfully includes research into Vancouver's origins. It was not widely noticed at the time of publication.
