David Nunuk has been photographing the landscapes of British Columbia for thirty years, often travelling far off the beaten path to capture stunning images of the natural world. The Aldergrove-based photographer was nominated for a B.C. Book Prize for his coffee table book Natural Light: Visions of British Columbia.

In his Vancouver Light: Visions of a City (Harbour Publishing, $49.95), David Nunuk sets out to capture vistas of Vancouver as never before seen. Nunuk measures the changing lights, colours and moods of the city, and through the camera's eye captures the beauty of the pink blush of scattered cherry blossoms and the urban still life reflected in the silent waters of Coal Harbour. It's a stunning collection of over 100 images from Howe Sound to the Fraser River, remarkably original considering the perspectives are often well-known vistas.

Specializing in science and nature photography, his images have appeared on both US and Canadian postage stamps and in magazines such as Outdoor Photography, Time, Canadian Geographic, Nature, Geographical, The Independent and The Sunday Telegraph.
