Frank Leighton graduated from engineering from the University of London following six years of war service in the Royal Air Force, mainly in the Air-Sea-Rescue service. He retired from a Vancouver consulting engineering firm as Vice-Chairman in 1984. During his career, he consulted on projects in more than 30 countries, serving on numerous civic boards and commissions. Until 2000, he was a Commissioner on the BC Utilities Commission. His memoir covers a period from 1919 to 1949, including his descriptions of being under seige in Malta for a year.
