Reverend Charles Harrison was a resident of the Queen Charlotte Islands as a missionary for 40 years. He translated and published portions of the Bible into Haida and he published The Hydah Mission: Queen Charlotte Islands for the Church Missionary Society in London circa 1884. He also made a contribution to the study of Haida grammar in Proceedings and Transactions of the Royal Society of Canada i (2), Series 2:123-226, edited by Charles F. Chamberlain in 1895. It was republished in 1969.
