K.D. Miller graduated from UBC with a Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre in 1978. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, she attended the University of Guelph until 1973. She moved back to Toronto from Vancouver in 1979, working at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Twenty years later, she published a collection of linked short stories, Give Me Your Answer (The Porcupine's Quill, 1979). In 1983 she appeared in Christopher Durang's play Beyond Therapy. Active in the Anglican Church, she has helped promote understanding between her church and the gay and lesbian community.
