Daisy Callison once accompanied her father's prospecting party through the Cassiar Mountain Range, seven people in total, travelling through dangerous, uncharted territory with sixty head of horses. She and her sister were the first white women to pass that way, in what is now part of the Muskwa Kechika park. Her memoir/novel Mountain Trails is based on the diary of a sixteen-year-old girl for a four-month period in 1935.
