Associate dean of Education at SFU, she disagrees with the popular notion that creativity is tied to personality. "I think it has more to do with skills and rules, with critical inquiry, and with significant achievement within our traditions of understanding." She joined SFU in 1991. Her book, Achieving Extraordinary Ends: An Essay on Creativity, received the Canadian Association for the Foundations of Education Award.
