As curator of the Delta Historical Museum, Michael Duncan wrote and illustrated Wind and Wild Grass (1976), a self-published collection of drawings, featuring nature and buildings from the Delta area, printed by D.W. Friesen. Born and raised in Scotland, Duncan had a poetry book published in Edinburgh at age twelve and a poem on religious hypocrisy was published by Cambridge University Press at age fourteen. He was educated at Gordonstoun Naval Academy in Scotland. He worked as a teacher in Ontario and previously wrote a collection of poetry called Reflections, as well a variety of radio scripts and stage plays. He has been chairman of the Ladner Architecture and Beautification Committee and a martial arts instructor for the Canadian army and the Vancouver YMCA. He is also a pilot, a sailor, a diver and an artist.
