To mark the 50th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky's first visit to Vancouver, the University of British Columbia published its 358-page Annotated Catalogue of the H. Colin Slim Stravinsky Collection Donated by Him to the University of British Columbia Library. As described by UBC Special Collections, this project evolved after H. Colin Slim met Stravinsky when Slim was at the UBC Department of Music in 1952. First he participated in the premieres of Concerto for Two Pianos and Les Noces (Cantata in Four Scenes), conducting the latter work; then he drove Igor Stravinsky to a rehearsal with the Vancouver Symphony six months later. The two men met again in 1966 when Slim particpated in the production of two choral works in Los Angeles under Stravinsky's direction. As a musicologist, Slim devoted considerable energies and time to collecting letters, scores, and memorabilia pertaining to Stravinksy. These he donated to the University of British Columbia in 1999. His annotated record of the H. Colin Slim Stravinsky Collection was published in 2002.
