Having lived aboard their 40-foot sailboat Nor Siglar (meaning Northern Sailor in Old Norse) for 15 years, Anne Brevig and retired forester Martin Vennesland, both Norwegian Canadians, realized their life-long dream of circumnavigating the globe by spending nine of those years sailing 61,000 nautical miles, visiting 81 countries and recording their adventures for their self-published chronicle 9 Years on the 7 Seas (Seven Seas Press, $36.95), initially published in Norwegian. An English version containing 300 photos and 216 pages was launched at the Vancouver Maritime Museum in 2005. During much of the journey Anne Brevig contributed monthly articles to a Norwegian sailing magazine. 0973758201
