Born in Lethbridge, Elizabeth Wilson grew up in Grassy Lake, Alberta and taught school in rural Alberta before settling in Edmonton in 1949. Since she retired to Nanaimo in 1987, she began writing novels for teenagers, including Andre Tom MacGregor, The Book of Sarah (Coteau, 1998) and Song Dogs (Coteau, 2002). Song Dogs is a story about coyotes in Southern Alberta.
