Memories of political subterfuge in a privileged Beijing household during the 1930s and 1940s are at the heart of Things That Must Not Be Forgotten by playwright Michael David Kwan (MW&R) of Vancouver. At age 12 he was taken to live with relatives in Shanghai, not sure if he would ever see his family again.
