Vancouver based independent investor and new author, Nawar Alsaadi, bought his first stock when he was 17 years old. By the time he was 31 he was able to retire as a self-made millionaire. Now at 36, Alsaadi's has released his first book, The Bull of Heaven, chronicling his early life in war-torn Iraq, his forced exile to France at the age of 12 and how he made his way to a new home in Canada. Nawar Alsaadi's autobiography reveals how he created wealth through the stock market and used this wealth to fight corporate greed as a shareholder activist. The Bull of Heaven is now available across North America through amazon.com and amazon.ca.

Today, Alsaadi's shares his insider perspective, from risking and losing his wealth during the stock market tech bubble to making millions in the market during the financial crisis of the last decade. This new book delves into the ins and outs of investing successfully in the financial markets and offers valuable lessons on avoiding many of the pitfalls faced by countless investors around the globe. The Bull of Heaven also delves into shareholder activism and why enacting change in the way companies do business is essential to the health of financial markets and the economy as a whole.

Having researched hundreds of corporations, Alsaadi identifies a changing market landscape where a complacent board of directors and apathetic shareholders are the perfect breeding ground for corporate underperformance. Yet, the rise of the internet and digital media is giving concerned shareholders new tools to strike back and pressure corporations to do good by them, their employees and their communities.

Nawar Alsaadi's first foray into shareholder activism came in 2011 when he discovered that Equal Energy, a company he had invested in, was not serving the needs of its shareholders. "After weeks of analysis it was clear the management team was prevailing at the expense of shareholders by pursuing the wrong business strategy and the people behind the strategy were the real problem."; Alsaadi has used the Internet and other innovative tools of shareholder activism to expose his issues with Equal Energy thus creating in the process the 21st century digital retail activist: agile, media savvy and cost effective.

Through The Bull of Heaven he has championed the cause of overcoming adversity, gaining financial freedom and deploying wealth to the betterment of society.
