Chef Eric Arrouze is a french chef living in Vancouver. He grew up in a working class family in a dangerous area of France, became the head chef in a luxury hotel on the French Riveria by the age of 23 and taught culinary arts at UBC. His first book in the Child to Chef memoir series is A Gourmand in Training (Carpe Diem, 2013) and covers his discovery that food makes people happy, as well as the influence of his grandmother Augusta in his decision to become a chef.
