Issues of racial minorities have been a primary concern of Texas born Paul Baker. His doctoral dissertation on Negro-White adjustment was completed at Columbia University.

Author of:

The Forgotten Kutenai (Boise: Mountain States Press, 1955). A study of the culture and customs of the Kutenai tribe, who inhabits southern B.C., northern Idaho, and western Montana. There is little known about the tribe's geographical origin and their namesake, but the book gives possible anthropological explanations while also exploring their religion, families, and health. Baker also compares their lives in the past to the present in the 1950s.
