Born October 15, 1931 in Drumheller, Alberta, Florence Barton arrived in Penticton, B.C. in 1988. Graduating from Washington State University in 1957 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, she received Highest Honors. Practicing in the U.S. and Penticton, she also worked part-time as a flight instructor and was an active member of the Anglican Church. She self-published an autobiography Gone To The Cats (Gem Press, 1984) and a mystery novel The Evil That We Do (Commonwealth Publications, 1996), written under her pen name, Anne Barton. Her mystery novels about veteranarian Erica Merrill are A Switch in Time (JRM Mysteries / Hushion House, 2006) and Till Hell Freezes Over (JRM Mysteries / Hushion House, 2006).
