The Gitselasu: The People of Kitselas Canyon (First Nations Education Centre of School District 82, 1999). Gitselasu or Kitselas means 'People of the Canyon,' and this book gives a detailed account of the peoples whose territory borders that of the Gitxsan in Northwestern B.C. The 1.7 kilometers of the Kitselas Canyon had five known traditional villages, and during the smallpox epidemics of the late 19th century the shrinking populations came together into two villages, what is now Gitaus and Kulspai.
