The Keeper of the Trees (Ronsdale, $8.95)
Info

In The Keeper of the Trees (Ronsdale, $8.95), 12-year-old Elizabeth is left with her English aunt in London for the school year. Recovering from the death of her mother and missing her Canadian friends, Elizabeth is drawn to a strange homeless woman, Maud, who teaches her the magic of the great chestnut trees in the park. This leads to a fantastical encounter with the enchanted Otherworld. Storyteller and puppeteer Beverley Brenna, a former elementary teacher, lives on a small acreage with her family and various pets, including a tarantula spider. Her previous books include Spider Summer and Daddy Longlegs at Birch Lane. 0-921870-63-9
