Wrote The Sockeye Mother, illustrated by Natasha Donovan, about the central role the the sockeye salmon play in the lives of the Gitxsan people of Northwestern B.C. Over its life cycle, salmon nourish the land and forests the Skeena River runs through and where the Gitxsan make their home. The story shows how the animals, water, soil and seasons are interconnected. It won the MacNally Robinson Book for Young People Award, The Science Writers and Communicators of Canada Award and was shortlisted for other awards.
