Born on July 25, 1929 in Vancouver, Campbell left school at 15 to work in the logging industry. Working a number of jobs throughout the '50s including selling insurance and appliance salesman, he bought a franchise in OK Tire Stores in 1964. He is the father of three sons; the youngest died of teen suicide at age 18. Campbell is the author of Prime Cuts: 65 Hilarious Slices of Life.
