Born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan in 1910, Adeline (Nan) Clark (neé Knight) left the family farm to teach in rural schools. She later enrolled in nursing at Vancouver General Hospital, retiring to Sechelt. Originally written as a series of reminiscences for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her memoir Prairie Dreams (Port Alberni: Blue Nun Press, 1991) recalls the prairies, with an introduction by Bruce Hutchinson.
