Richard DeGrandpre is a psychologist and independent science writer who has been published in American Psychologist, The Sciences, Common Knowledge and Cerebrum. As an SFU-based author, he published Ritalin Nation: Rapid-fire Culture and the Transformation of Human Consciousness, a study of how children's lives have changed, and hyperactivity has increased, with indoor, 'plugged-in' lifestyles. He also wrote The Lilly Suicides (2002) about the potentially deadly side effects of taking Prozac.
