Donald White self-published a memoir, Good Enough to be Delightful; Bad Enough to be Interesting (2019) about growing up in Nanaimo during the Great Depression and the Second World War, being in the logging and fishing industries in the early 1950s, earning a law degree in 1956 and working as a lawyer for several decades. For recreation, White worked as a cowboy, waterskied and downhill skied.
